The Manor at Shalem

The Manor at Shalem offers comfortable, subsidized housing for seniors in a welcoming environment that promotes dignity, safety and peace. Our 582 sq. ft. one-bedroom, one-bathroom suites have fully equipped kitchens and come with either a spacious patio or balcony.
The Manor is an independent living facility where Residents share common indoor gathering spaces and outdoor landscaped gardens with the rest of the Shalem community. Residents can also choose to eat in the Shalem Dining Room for our chef-prepared gourmet meal service or order from our take-out menu.
Subsidized Housing
To be eligible for subsidized housing, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
AGE
The Manor provides affordable housing to seniors with the eligibility age to reside in the Manor is 60 or older.
INCOME
Your maximum income must be below Alberta’s income threshold limit. Minimum rent is set at $500 per month regardless of income.
ASSET LIMITES
Applicants must have less than $25,000 in household assets. Assets include but are not limited to:
A medical form must be submitted to be considered for residency and is to be completed no more than one year prior to the availability of a suite.
Please Note: All applicants for the Manor are required to email last year’s Tax Assessment and a List of Current Assets to living@shalem.ca in order to be placed on the Waiting List.

- Bank Account Balances
- Investments (excluding RRSPs)
- Equity in Property
- Equity in Motor Vehicles (first vehicle is exempt)
