Part-Time

Resident Care Attendant (RCA)

Location:

Calgary, AB

Position Overview

Resident Care Attendants provide flexible support across a variety of departments including:

  • Front Desk Reception & Hospitality
  • Resident Care & Family Support
  • Dining & Food Services
  • Recreation & Wellness

While responsibilities may vary depending on the area being supported during a shift, the heart of the role remains the same: contributing to a warm, welcoming, safe, and supportive community where residents feel known, valued, and cared for.

Here are some examples of what an RCA shift may include:

  • Greeting residents and visitors at the front desk and assisting with questions or directions
  • Answering phones and supporting basic administrative communication
  • Serving coffee, snacks, or meals in the dining room and assisting residents during mealtimes
  • Walking alongside a resident to an activity or wellness appointment
  • Helping set up recreation programs, events, or social gatherings
  • Creating posters, signs, or simple promotional materials for community events and activities using creativity and attention to visual detail
  • Checking in with residents throughout the day and notifying team members of concerns or changes
  • Supporting families with general questions and helping them feel welcomed in the community
    Working alongside care, dining, housekeeping, recreation, and leadership teams to support daily operations

What You Will Bring

We are seeking individuals who demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to support different departments
  • A calm, positive, and team-oriented approach
  • Initiative and attentiveness to resident needs
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience working in a senior living environment is required
  • Health Care Aide (HCA) certification is considered an asset
  • Experience in hospitality, recreation, dining services, or community support is an asset
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn new software systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks

Schedule & Availability

  • Minimum guaranteed hours: 16 hours per week
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including:
    • Days
    • Evenings
    • Weekends
    • Night shifts

Additional hours may be available based on operational needs.
