Executive Director

Shalem Society for Seniors Citizens Care, a Christian Seniors’ Residence in  Calgary Alberta, is seeking an Executive Director.

We are searching for an Executive Director with strong leadership skills to enhance the lives of our residents and lead our team of dedicated staff and volunteers.

As Executive Director, working closely with the Board of Directors, you will oversee all aspects of Shalem Seniors Home operational requirements ensuring compliance with all levels of government and seniors housing/health regulations, including preparing, for approval by the Board of Directors, an annual budget, and shall ensure that annual financial and program audits are performed. 

The ideal candidate must possess outstanding communication, planning and organizational skills.  

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of three year’s work experience in a retirement residence, long-term care,  or related industry, work experience in geriatrics would be an asset.  A degree or diploma in business, marketing, health or related field.

Dining Services Cook

The Cook will produce and prepare menu items for seniors as prescribed by the Executive Chef. Maximizing efficiency and service, in and out of the kitchen, and ensuring that quality, quantity and presentation of prepared food are completed in accordance with the facilities high standards.

Housekeeping Services Staff

Under minimal supervision, this staff person performs a wide range of janitorial and housekeeping duties as prescribed by the Housekeeping Manager. We are looking for a conscientious hard worker with good applied knowledge of housekeeping, janitorial, infection and prevention and control procedures, with flexibility and the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines. This position is available for both part time and casual candidates.  As Shalem is a 24-7 facility, you must be available for evenings, weekends and night shifts.  Please contact Shalem at 403-240-2800 ext. 2 or send your resume to living@shalem.ca.

 

Dining Service Staff

There is a full time position requiring flexibility and availability on set weekdays and all weekends. This is a combined role which will include both serving and kitchen duties. Dining Services Team Members interact with residents, visitors and family members directly and maintain the highest level of service and quality control standards.
